The Pennington School does a writeup on WISSP’s recent milestones throughout the 2023 year. Including NGO partnerships, pad production, and updates on our patenting process, WISSP has had a year filled with progress and achievements.
Grand Prize Winners
Whalebone Magazine x Faherty Brand Lemonade Stand Contest
The Lemonade Stand Contest was a competition held in 2021 and produced by Whalebone Magazine and Faherty Brand designed to kickstart projects and small businesses. Our winning entry was a proposal for our hybrid sanitary napkin product and initiative. The grand prize included a $20,000 cash prize, a $40,000 marketing package on Whalebone websites and social media, and three mentoring sessions with Alex Faherty, the CEO and co-founder of Faherty Brand.

HP’s Girls Save the World Contest
HP’s Girls Save the World, in partnership with the MIT Solv[ED] Youth Innovation Challenge, is a contest that invites girls between the ages of 13 and 18 to submit applications that demonstrate their ideas for solving an environmental or societal change that is taking place in their community and requires the use of technology to create a solution. After receiving over 800 applicants, WISSP was granted as 1 of 10 finalists.
MIT Solv[ED] Youth Innovation Challenge
The MIT Solv[ED] Youth Innovation Challenge is a contest that encourages problem-solvers under the age of 24 to submit their tech-based ideas and solutions that are making an impact on their community or the world. Out of more than 800 applications, WISSP was selected as one of 20 finalists.
